The Keurig has soared to national attention in recent years, and for good reason. It has made brewing coffee (and other hot beverages) a quick and easy one-step process! New and improved Keurig K250 2.0 one ups it previous models with with new sizes (up to a full carafe!) and a sleek, sophisticated design.
WHAT YOU’LL LIKE:
Compared to the often bulky or minimalistic design of its competitors, the Keurig K250 2.0 stands out for its sophisticated design. It’s the only one on this list that comes in a variety of colors, and its slim build makes it a great choice for small spaces. You can even use it at your work desk for quick and fresh tasting coffee during the day.
Have it Your Way:
From a 4 oz serving to a full carafe, this brewer lets you have it your way! Whether you want a carafe to share with your friends on a road trip, or just one quick cup on your way to work, you can easily customize your brewing experience. Does your significant other or family member have a different taste in coffee than you? No need to fight over the brand of coffee beans, you can select from a wide variety of K-Cups that come from different brands like Lipton, Starbucks and Krispy Kreme. That means you can make yourself a cup of decaf coffee black, turn around and make a green tea for your wife, and then a hot chocolate for your kids! This individualized experience leaves everyone happy, and is one of the best parts of owning a Keurig.
No Refills Needed:
The 40 oz reservoir on this model means that you don’t need to run to the water cooler every time you want a cup of coffee. Depending on the volume of coffee you drink, it’s possible to even go a full week without refilling it! This helps speed up the coffee making process and makes it a more convenient process for busy bees.
WHAT YOU WON’T LIKE:
No Grinding Allowed:
This model only takes branded K-Cups, so you can’t grind your own beans. Though using the individual cups can be convenient and fun in terms of variety, they can become a bit expensive. For instance, a box of 12 will cost you around $10. If you like grinding your own beans, it might be worth it for you to just buy a bag of coffee beans at the price, instead of limiting yourself to the ones available specifically for Keurig.
Before making this purchase, be aware that there’s no way to turn this coffee maker off without unplugging it. It’s meant to stay on 24/7, and will be warm to the touch throughout this time. If this sounds like a hassle to you, then opt for a different brand. In addition, this might be a fire hazard or a big energy suck.
A potential problem with this model is that it’ll get stuck in preheat mode…. indefinitely. Sometimes opening and closing it again will fix it. You can also try taking apart the machine to see if you can spot the problem, or try unplugging it for a few days. Because this model is supposed to be on 24/7, the premise is that the water will always be preheated, making the brewing process faster. That’s all well and good until it gets stuck on preheat, forever.
Keurig has been making great coffee makers for a long time and this model is no exception. It’s got a sleek design that allows it to blend in well with most kitchen appliances. If you want pretty and easy to use, this is the model to get.
